Nail trimming at home – professional quality, safely
Long nails cause your dog pain when walking and can break painfully – but going home to your dog with nail clippers is daunting if you’re not sure how to do it right. The Bugalugs nail pliers for medium and large dogs and cats are professional-quality pliers with built-in safety protection – you only cut the nail tip, not the blood vessels.
👉 The result: a safe nail cut at home, without a visit to the vet.
Stainless steel blade + safety guard
The quality of the pliers determines both the accuracy of the cut and the safety of the pet:
- high-quality stainless steel blade – durable, sharp, cuts cleanly
- built-in safety protection – prevents cutting too deep
- Safety lock – pliers are safely stored closed
- Non-slip ergonomic handle – you can keep a firm grip even in tense moments
- Nail clipper in the built-in handle – for smoothing after surgery

Suitable for medium and large breeds
Nail clippers for medium and large dogs are designed to cut thicker and stronger nails. For example: Labrador Retriever, Beagle, Bulldog, German Shepherd, Cocker Spaniel, Boxer and breeds of similar sizes. Also suitable for trimming the nails of larger cats (Maine Coon, Norwegian Forest Cat).
👉 One product for nail care for the whole family with a large dog.
Simpler procedure – less stress for the pet
Constant nail trimming every 3-4 weeks – the pet gets used to the procedure and does not react to it with a fight. It is recommended to cut little by little and repeat after a week if the nails are very long.
👉 Regularity is better than long breaks.
Suitable for medium and large dogs and larger cats. Only for cutting your pet’s nails. Keep out of reach of children.
For smaller dogs or cats, we recommend choosing Bugalugs nail clippers in size S+M, which are designed specifically for thinner nails.
How to use: Hold your pet’s paw firmly and press gently to make the nail visible. Open the nail clippers, make sure the safety guard is in place and cut the tip of the nail at a 45° angle according to the natural shape of the nail. Do not cut too deep to avoid injury to the blood vessel. If the nails are very long, cut little by little and repeat the process after a week. After cutting, smooth the edges of the nail with the built-in nail clipper.
